The Principal Legal Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, serves in the Office of General Counsel of the Department of Homeland Security. The General Counsel, who is appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate, is the Department's chief legal officer and principal legal advisor to the Secretary of Homeland Security. Under the direction of the General Counsel and his immediate staff, the Principal Legal Advisor provides specialized legal advice to the Assistant Secretary and represents Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in all exclusion, deportation, and removal proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review.

As a Deputy Principal Legal Advisor for Litigation, you will serve as one of five senior assistants to the Principal Legal Advisor on matters concerning immigration and customs related legal activities.
