The National Reconnaissance Office seeks qualified Auditors for its Office of Inspector General to conduct performance audits. In addition to individual work, the incumbent will either participate in or lead a diverse group of government personnel in addressing a broad range of issues. Some domestic and foreign travel may be required.
Minimum requirements include a BA/BS in accounting or a related field, such as business, finance or public administration (including at least 24 semester hours of auditing or accounting). Specialized experience that enables you to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically related to evaluating compliance with laws and regulations, or assessing the effectiveness, economy and efficiency of resource utilization; management processes and procedures; and the extent to which mission objectives are being achieved is also needed. Applicants with experience or expertise in Office of Inspector General and audit methodologies are preferred.
Candidates must be highly self-motivated individuals with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communications skills, and the ability to work within short deadlines. The ability to function across a broad range of disciplines and to assemble and assimilate large quantities of data is also needed, along with the knowledge needed to discern key issues, draw appropriate conclusions and establish a track record of producing cogent assessments of complex issues.
All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.
To be considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegal drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.
